Fossil Landscape is part of Thomas Girbl's series "Pyrographic Landscapes". The composition conveys the impression of an archaic terrain – a surface shaped by pressure, erosion, and elemental forces. Layered pigments and controlled interventions with fire create structures reminiscent of rock formations, sedimentary strata, and fossilized organic traces.
The monochrome palette reinforces the geological character of the work, allowing light and shadow to define spatial depth. White burn marks appear like mineral inclusions or distant celestial bodies trapped within the stone – subtle markers of time within a fractured landscape.
The surface appears more exposed than painted. The fossil landscape becomes a meditation on time, memory and transformation – like a fragment of the earth, suspended between past and present.

Shipping time
Orders are usually prepared and shipped within 1-5 working days.
Since all artworks are personally prepared and shipped by the artist, processing times may occasionally be slightly longer – for example, during exhibitions or artist residencies. In such cases, we will of course inform you of the expected shipping date.

All artworks are packed in a sturdy wooden box to ensure safe transport.

Transport damage
All shipments are fully insured.
Should a work of art arrive damaged, please contact us immediately and send photos of the packaging and the damage so that the insurance claim can be processed.
Returns
Returns
Returns are possible within 14 days of receipt.
The buyer bears the costs for return shipping.
The artwork must be returned securely, preferably in its original packaging and in the same condition. For international returns, any customs duties or import fees are also the responsibility of the buyer.
Production
The works are created through an experimental process using fire, pigments, and natural materials. Each piece is personally developed and crafted by the artist.
This results in a unique work whose surface and structure visibly preserve the traces of its creation process.
